Historically, the commodity price of coffee has been extremely volatile due to both supply shocks (like poor crops, bumper crops, and new competition) and demand shocks (like changes in consumer tastes, and consumer unease regarding the health effects of coffee consumption). Figure 2 shows a clear example of the volatility of the commodity prices for coffee over a ten-year period. When one looks at the atrocities in the world today and the example used by Johnson of the innocent infant burned in a building, a common reaction is empathy and sympathy. If Johnson insists on viewing God as a mortal and asserting that a human being would not allow such atrocity, then it is useful to look at approaches taken by ethical, moral actors in the world today. Looking at the Common-Good approach, we may assert that in order for us to have qualities, such as empathy, compassion, and other redeemable traits, we must have situations in our lives that evoke these qualities. Therefore, God can be looked at as human, then human approaches to ethics and the common good must be utilized, so under the Common Good approach, God is good. The Common Good approach essentially deals with an idea that individual good is equated and ensured with public good and that individual, honorable traits should be shared as a community in a healthy fashion. In this way, goodness, is not good if it is not shared. To apply this to counteract Johnson’s argument, it can be said, then, that in order to recognize good to share it, we must also be able to recognize bad or â€Å"evil†, in order to know how to counter it in a world of free will. â€Å"Appeals to the common good urge us to view ourselves as members of the same community, reflecting on broad questions concerning the kind of society we want to become and how we are to achieve that society† (Velasquez, et al, 1996, 2). Johnson’s argument to this would be that just as there is an imagined God that promotes good in the actions of man in reference to free will, there could easily be an evil God that does the opposite. â€Å"For example, we could say that God is evil and that he allows free will so that we can freely do evil things, which would make us more truly evil than we would be if forced to perform evil acts† (Johnson, 1983, 88). This argument against free will does not compliment Johnson’s insistence that we look at God as a human being. Just as societies and groups strive to make communities better, there are groups, who conspire to do evil deeds and go against the common good. If God is only human, then God can only hope that others will chose not to do evil with their free will. In conclusion, Johnson is flawed in looking at God as if God is human, then attaching inhuman traits or superhuman traits to action or inaction. If God is made of human qualities, then there will be flaws in even God’s own self and design. But, with the insistence of Johnson to claim God as human, then we can simply look at ethical human approached to good and evil. We can be hopeful that with the Common Good approach that moral actors will do what is right with the idea that God would act in this same manner. References Johnson, B. Marketing mix 3.2.1 Price From the advertisement, it seems FedEx provides the service to the average citizen; therefore the price should be low. A FedEx overnight letter cost $11, it is cheaper than UPS and DHL, which cost $12 and $13, ( Oppapers, 2009). 3.2.2 Promotion As mentioned in the introduction, FedEx is the largest express transport company in the world, (FedEx China, 2008). The promotion of FedEx is above-the-line promotion (Hall, 2008). Thus the company publicizes through TV or newspapers. According to Hall (2008), good advertising should raise (AIDA) awareness and interest, desire and action. This advertisement is likely to reach the I of AIDA. In this advertisement, the person is not an attractive or a well-known model, who just an average man in the street. It presents FedEx in a popular style. In addition, this middle aged man in that shirt is making a phone call, he may be a trader. This may show FedExs target audiences to be enterprises. The logo of FedEx is on the shirt, in other words, the person in this advertisement is promoting for FedEx. Overall, the advertising promotes in an original and interesting way. 4. Conclusion 4.1 Summary To sum up, the color usage of the FedEx advertisement (blue) displays the faith, trust and loyalty, because most of their target groups are enterprises. Therefore they use this advertisement to promote their products to these enterprises. It shows the purpose of FedEx, which is ensuring to people their services are consistently reliable and safe. FedEx makes use of Marketing Mix and Market Segmentation in their advertisement to satisfy consumers. 4.2 Recommendations From this advertisement, FedEx use an average man to promote their brand. It would be strategy that FedEx may consider is to find a famous model to advertise, that may appeal more to some consumers. Another recommendation is that the shirt in the advertisement is too blank. FedEx could add several banners to show what they want to promote. Last but not least, the logo of FedEx has different colors which has different meanings, thus they should make use of different colors shirts to appeal to consumers.

Dreams: Could They Be All They Are Made Out To Be?   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚ ³Over a seventy-year life span, you ¹ll devote at least fifty thousand hours to dreaming ² (Segell 42). These dreams can be made up of many things. They can be a window into another world or  ³like a urgent fax from your subconscious ² (Graves 97). Many things can affect what we dream about and they are not always our previous thoughts. Things such as gender, information gained during the course of time, or even sensations received while asleep all contribute to the content of dreams. Many times they contribute more than most people think.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Gender affects many things, including the way we dream.  ³Men typically dream about fighting, protecting, or competing in an outside environment; women are more likely to dream about relationships and loss in an inside environment ² (Segell 42). Most men have been brought up with the notion that they must have more of a tendency of being aggressive. In this aggression they either dream about how aggressive they are or about the lack of aggression in their daily routine. Women, on the other hand, have typically been brought up to be more emotional than men. This up bringing has also affected the way women dream.  ³Women are more likely to dial into their interior life whether awake or asleep ² (Segell 42). This means that women will read into their dreams more frequently then men. Researchers have found that problems that occur during the day either at work or home and are worked through in your sleep (Segell 42). While men would most likely look at these d reams as nothing but a dream, women will try to face these problems throughout the day. Although there are many differences there are also similarities between men and women in dreams.  ³Like women, you have slightly more negative than positive dreams ² (Segell 42). Which in this case would show one of those similarities. Other similarities would include sex dreams and the ongoing infatuation about their body and physical appearances. This also shows that although men and women are very different their mind works very similarly.
